MAINSTAGE – Sunday 16th July

Making their debut at Tropical Pressure this year, The Steelers are a Caribbean style steel pan orchestra from Newquay, Cornwall. Made up of players aged 12 – 21 the band have taken the Caribbean sound of steel pans and added flavours of rock, reggae, pop and funk, and a little taste of bossa. Over the past decade or so, The Steelers have performed all over the south west: under the enormous biomes at Eden Project, at Camp Bestial 2015 & 2016, at numerous concerts and carnivals, on the main stage at the Boardmasters surf and music festival, to name just a few places. Wherever they play, The Steelers always draw a happy crowd – their varied set list that includes classic Caribbean tunes but also tracks by the likes of Pharrell Williams, Gary Numan and Rage Against the Machine, in unique arrangements as you have never heard them before!

Come over and listen, come over and sing along, come over and dance with us – or do all three! The sun always shines when The Steelers play – be there when we play and bask in the sweet sound of steel pan!
