AMPHITHEATRE – Sunday, 16th July

Setondji is a singer and song-writer playing roots world music. A combination inspired by classical Indian & traditional African melody and rhythm with twinkling country folk reggae on the guitar.
An avid busker, his arrival in the UK in January 2016 has been embraced and celebrated by the streets of London as well as in local markets, private parties and across venues in South and East London. Setondji spirit is defined by friends and fellow artists as bringing joy and light to the life around him.
Setondji Spirit took part in seven years of collaboration with Inner Rose (Reggae afro-beat band based Lyon (France)) as backing vocal for his brother Joe Pilgrim. This project culminated in 2013 at The Garance Reggae Festival sharing the stage with John Holt, Dub Incorporation, Lee Scratch Perry, Mo Kalamity and Naaman. And a brotherhood collaboration with Bea Shantifa his sister and Joe Pilgrim, Mighty hearts, sharing the stage with great names of roots Jamaican music such as Cedric ‘Congo’ Myton and Earl China Smith from Inna de yard.
For Topical pressure 2017 Setondji will be warmly accompanied by the strong vocals and sweet rhythmes of his Sister Bea Shantifa.
